2:30 - 4:30 PM: Writers Coffeehouse at Comic-Con, Santa Rosa Room, Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina

Led by authors Peter Clines (Paradox Bound, Dead Moon), Delilah Dawson (Galaxy's Edge: Black Spire, No Country for OId Gnomes), Jonathan Maberry(V-Wars, Joe Ledger), Scott Sigler(Earthcore, Generations Trilogy), and Henry Herz (Little Red Cuttlefish, Alice’s Magic Garden) this session focuses on the business of prose publishing. The Writers Coffeehouse is a bunch of writers sitting around talking about writing. No agendas, no requirements—just chat about markets, about pitching and selling, about conquering frustration and defeating writers block, and about all of the good things that come from the community of writers. It’s open to everyone—from absolute beginners to award-winners and bestsellers. Just show up, hang out, and talk. Or don't talk—lurk in the back and take notes.

7:00 - 8:00 PM Secrets of Adapting Comics and Genre Fiction to the Screen, Room 29AB

We’re in a golden age of comic-based film and television with studios, networks and streaming services outbidding each other to bring our favorite properties to the screen. What’s the secret to successful adaptation? Comics and media writerRob Salkowitz (FORBES) will ask our panel of producers, showrunners and creators, including Jason Brown (THE EXPANSE), Sean Daniel (SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK), Craig Rosenberg (THE BOYS, PREACHER), NYT bestselling author Jonathan Maberry (V-Wars) and publisher-turned-producer Dinesh Shamdasani (BLOODSHOT), for the tricks of the trade.

8:00-9:00 PM:  Psychology of Cult TV Shows,  Room 25ABC

Are you struggling about the upcoming ending of your favorite TV shows? Do you feel connected to certain TV shows' stories and characters? So do these panelists! This team of actors, TV writers, and psychologists will discuss the psychology of your favorite TV shows, such as Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Arrow, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Young Justice, and others. Psychologist Dr. Janina Scarlet (Harry Potter Therapy; Dark Agents), actors Ruth Connell (Supernatural) and Rachel Miner (Supernatural), builder and actor Tamara Robertson (MythBusters), writers Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, Young Justice), Deric Hughes (Flash; Beauty and the Beast), and NYT bestselling author Jonathan Maberry (V-Wars) will discuss your favorite TV shows. Dustin McGinnis (Superhero Therapy podcast) moderates.

The resurgence of weird Westerns in books, films, comics, and games—like Wynonna Earp and Deadlands—has reopened a once-dormant genre. What has brought about this renewed passion for six-guns crossing bullets with zombies, vampires, and aliens? Moderator David Boop (editor, Straight Outta Deadwood) is joined by Jonathan Maberry (Joe Ledger series, V-Wars), Phil Foglio (Girl Genius), Eytan Kollin (The Unincorporated Man), and Naomi Brett Rourke (Straight Outta Tombstone) to explore the roots and revival of the genre as old as American publishing itself.

Friday, July 19th

10:00 - 11:00 PM: The Future as I See It, Room 23ABC

Bestselling creators engage in a lively discussion of what-ifs about the future as foretold in their work and unfolding in the world. Panelists Jonathan Maberry (VWars, Joe Ledger series), Seanan McGuire (X-Men), Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Dark Crystal, Lost, Blood and Treasure), Steven L. Sears (A-Team, Xena), Timothy Zahn (Star Wars, Terminator), and Gini Koch (Alien) are moderated by Bryan Thomas Schmidt.

2:00 - 3:00 PM: Media Tie-In Writing and the 2019 Scribe Awards,  Room 32AB

Jonathan Maberry (X-Files) will host this year’s Scribe Awards for excellence in tie-in writing, including honoring this year’s Grandmaster Award “Faust” winner, Nancy Holder(who will also join the panel). Other panelists include Matt Forbeck (The Marvel Encyclopedia, Halo: Bad Blood), Michael Kogge(The Last Jedi: A Junior Novel), Chris Ryall(comic book writer, Publisher at IDW), Max Allan Collins(Road to Perdition, Mike Hammer); Christie Golden(Star Wars, World of Warcraft), David Boop(Predator, Veronica Mars).

Saturday, July 20th
