THE
HORROR WRITERS ASSOCIATION
NEW JERSEY – PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER
OFFICIAL HOMEPAGE
WHAT IS THE HWA?
THE HORROR WRITERS ASSOCIATION (HWA) is a worldwide organization
of writers and publishing professionals dedicated to promoting dark
literature and the interests of those who write it. HWA was formed
in the late 1980s with the help of many of the field's greats, including
Dean Koontz, Robert McCammon, and Joe Lansdale. Today, with over
1,000 members around the globe, it is the oldest and most respected
professional organization for the much-loved writers who bring you
the most enjoyable sleepless nights of your life. (from www.horror.org)
NEW JERSEY – PENNSYLVANIA CHAPTER
Jonathan Maberry, author of Ghost
Road Blues, is an active member
of the HWA, and has recently become the Chapter President for
the New Jersey/Pennsylvania chapter.
“This chapter is small and spread out pretty thinly, especially
across Pennsylvania but over the next few months I intend to
bring the chapter together into a tighter and more mutually supportive
group.”
-Jonathan Maberry
Chapter President
Author/editor David Kramer was recently appointed Vice President
of the Chapter and has agreed to step up as Webmaster beginning
winter of 2006. “The
HWA does a lot of good, and it lets the reading public know that horror --in
all its many forms—should not be dismissed as ‘mere genre writing’,
as it so often has. Horror writing has shown itself to be innovative, challenging,
insightful, and enduring.”
-David Kramer
Vice President/Webmaster
